The day after Earth Day, Walnut Creek celebrated the debut of their new fleet of hybrid buses. The celebration was small (only about twenty or so booths, many of which represented the city), however it was a worth-while endeavor to be there. Our Executive Assistant, Lisa, and I represented our booth.
We met quite a few individuals running green businesses right here in the Walnut Creek area. Everyone was cheery and dedicated to the cause. I couldn't think of a better way to spend a Saturday.
Speaking at the debut of the buses were the Contra Costa Supervisor and County Connection Board Chair, Gayle Uilkema; County Connection Board Member and MTC Commissioner Amy Worth, and Representative George Miller (D-CA7) who is chair of the House Committee on Education and Labor, and a member of the House Committee on Natural Resources.
