Janine Hunt

International Artistic Director

I started my career at a wonderful salon with a local celebrity stylist who taught me not only the art of hair design, but also the art of business. Within seven years, I was groomed and took over the salon as a co-owner. I created the first of many educational platforms, trained and expanded my staff, and created a salon culture that was unlike any other.

My passion led me to the realization that I needed to teach other artists and with that desire in mind, I accepted an opportunity with a company in Milan, Italy. It led to a newfound love: educating and inspiring artists from all over the world. Through this pursuit, I had the privilege of working with the kind of talented artists who make you think that they must be here on this earth just to inspire everyone. With every class I give, I walk away with a profound piece of knowledge that alters my sense of self in the business. I am truly grateful for what the beauty and wellness industry continually gives me.

I'm truly excited about the future of health and beauty. With "green" being fashionable, and sometimes necessary, we are seeing changes in the way products are made, packaged, shipped, etc. These changes in decisions benefit us all. I am thrilled at the mindfulness that this brings; a mindfulness that shifts what we are sold, how it is sold, and why it is sold. I believe that this shift will also alter the way we communicate with one another, educate one another, and support one another. I'm so happy to say that Innersense is helping lead the way in this shift.

Interests and Hobbies: Music, photography, art, my garden, cooking, wine, entertaining, my German Shepherd, and most importantly, my family

Music: I am compelled to say that I have been born in the wrong era, or lived at another time. The beats I tend toward always verge on some vintage backlog of 30’s and 40’s swing mixed with 60’s and 70’s dub fused with a touch of Glam Rock and Electronica. Music transcends language in a foreign land, creates connection when there would be no other and makes house cleaning a whole lot easier. I couldn’t be happy without it.

Movies: I am the most ridiculous lover of the “chick flick”. Period, or independent choices like Enchanted April or Kinky Boots work for me. I also just Netflixed a great documentary about the adventure and process by which the reincarnated soul of the Dali Lama in India is found, called The Unmistaken Child. In a word: incredible.

Books: I just read a great book on business management called Drive by Pink. It was quite inspiring and informative. It gave me a new prospective on management and HR. My husband brought home a book about Brassai called Brassai, Paris. It’s full of fabulous photographs of the underbelly of Paris. It is one beautiful yet tragic photo after another with a fascinating description and story along the way. I also enjoy David Saderis. I have all of his books and books on CD. I can relate to some of the family dynamics and he has a real voice and humor that I quite like.
